A certified nurses assistant is a professional medical assistant and nurse practitioner giving assistance to other nurses including registered nurses and LPN’s. Their primary function is helping provide basic needs of patients. To become a certified nursing assistant requires months of appropriate education and training. In most cases, this education is through certified certified nurses schools. These programs allow students to learn all the basic tasks of the job. Typically, it involves hands-on practice, lectures, and an examination to acquire certification.
The primary purpose of education and training is obtaining patient care technician certification. Some of the primary functions of a CNA include bedside care for patients, taking care of patient information forms, assisting lead nurses, and delivering supplies as needed. These professionals are also responsible for administering medications, completing nursing assessments, medical data analyst, preparation for surgery, and if necessary performing CPR.
